Implant Crowns

Implants are placed where teeth are missing to provide a new root on which a crown or bridge is supported.

In this example, an implant replaces the missing roots of a premolar tooth and a crown is fitted.

Once the implant is placed, and fully integrated, and abutment is connected to the implant.

An impression of the abutment and implant is sent to the laboratory, where a crown is made.

Impressions can be avoided in some cases by using the Smile Team same day CEREC CAD CAM system.

This has the advantage of restoring the missing tooth without preparing adjacent sound teeth for bridge work.

Implants are now highly successful and are an increasingly chosen treatment option.
